Ex Falmouth student Ben Howard has had a night to remember at the BRIT Awards 2013. The singer-songwriter picked up the awards for British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act at the star packed ceremony last night.

25 year old Ben, who grew up in Devon, studied journalism at University College Falmouth but left before finishing the course to focus on building a career in music, decision which seems to have paid off.

He played a number of gigs in Devon and Cornwall and, as his reputation grew, managed to sell out dates across the UK and Europe.

Ben signed to Island Records in 2011 and released his debut album Every Kingdom later that year.
