The continued success of the popular Fal River Festival has been secured thanks to the appointment of one of Cornwall's leading arts development co-ordinators.
The Fal River Festival Team
Dot Peryer has joined the team at Fal River Cornwall to co-ordinated the festival.
Since moving to Cornwall almost 10 years ago Dot has worked in several strategic roles, including being one of the key drivers of Truro's annual City of Lights event.
The procession, which takes place each November, attracts around 25,000 people to the city each year.
Dot previously worked as the director of The Works, Cornwall's dance and theatre development agency.
She's delighted to join Fal River Cornwall and said: "I have worked with the Fal River Festival for several years in my role as director of The Works and watched it go from strength to strength.
"It has grown into a really important annual event in Cornwall's calendar and in coming years I plan to build on this to make it sustainable for the future.
"Our aim is to develop the festival as something which not only gives locals and visitors a whole host of great events to see and activities to join in, but also gives us the chance to showcase the amazing creative talent we have in Cornwall."
Dot was formerly the general manager of the Natural Theatre Company, in Bath, and has also previously run a community arts venue in Bristol.
Tim Light, of Fal River Cornwall, said: "It was this wealth of experience that made Dot the perfect choice to help us take the festival forward and ensure that it has a bright future.
"She's already full of ideas and we can't wait until she's putting them into practice making the festival not just a great event for Falmouth, but for the whole of Cornwall. We have no doubt these fantastic shoulder month festivals help the economy and most importantly work well for our many partners and sponsors."
