Falmouth School will be closed tomorrow despite earlier reports.

Teachers at Falmouth School will be joining Penryn College teachers on a day long strike in protest against Government reforms that will affect their pension scheme.

Christine Blower, General Secretary of the National Union of Teachers said: "[The government] are simply imposing draconian changes that will see teachers paying more, working longer and getting less,

"The action on Thursday is unavoidable and unless the Government starts listening rather than simply imposing its will, it leaves us with little choice other than to consider further action."

Cornwall Council has posted a guide for parents on their website

What do you think? Should teachers be allowed to strike? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

I support this strike. The Government is getting public-sector workers to repay the money stolen by the bankers. Not surprising that they don't like that idea. See here for more: http://tinyurl.com/66w39bu

I understand why they're striking but surely they could have done it sooner to the summer holidays. It would make it easier for parents to make alternative arrangements.
