Falmouth will keep its weekly rubbish collection after Cornwall Council voted on the issue.

The council voted seven to three to keep the rubbish collection weekly, with recycling collected fortnightly.

The council were considering two options, that could have seen Falmouth's rubbish collected every two weeks. A public consultation found that the majority of residents were in favour of keeping the system the same.

Opponents of the current system argued that it doesn't encourage recycling, whereas those in favour said that seagulls getting into rubbish was an issue.

What do you think? Are you happy with the current rubbish system or would you have preferred the change? Let us know in the comments.
