Falmouth Marine School is offering free taster sessions in Boatbuilding, Marine Engineering, Watersports and Marine Biology this Easter.  Fourteen different sessions will be available to try out, giving an insight into the range of courses on offer.

In Boatbuilding, a two day session at the College's workshops in Ponshardon will allow learners to build and launch a one-man ply-wood boat.

In Marine Engineering, learners will receive an introduction into marine engines in the newly refurbished engineering workshop and learn about boat-handling on a trip around the harbour in one of the Marine School boats.

The Marine Biology curriculum area is offering several full day and half sessions that include snorkelling surveys, beach cleaning and sculpture, coastal and rocky shore surveys and CSI Marine Biology, where learners will investigate what happened to a marine animal and get friendly with sharks and venomous fish.

Several full and half day sessions are also available with the Watersports department in sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, stand up paddleboarding and life-saving.

Falmouth Marine School will provide all the kit needed as well as the experts to deliver the free sessions.

To take part, complete the booking form online at www.falmouthmarineschool.ac.uk or call 01326 310310.
