Iron Man Challenge at the Falmouth Hotel
By CHSW_ | Wednesday, December 11, 2013, 15:00
Falmouth Hotel General Manager Christopher Roberts is facing an Iron Man Challenge to raise funds for local children's charity Children's Hospice South West (CHSW).
Iron Man Challenge
Chris has selflessly volunteered to put himself through a vigorous Iron Man Challenge with a difference. He will be using the leisure@falmouth facilities to conquer the challenge and raise funds. His quest involves 322 lengths of the pool, followed by 112 miles on the bike finishing with a marathon on the treadmill.
This will all be taking place on Sunday 19th January 2014 from 6am onwards and everyone is invited to the leisure facilities to join Chris. Chris will welcome your support, so why not come along, bring your work out kit, jog or cycle beside him or maybe swim some lengths.
Community Fundraiser for CHSW Mary Murfin says "The challenge that Christopher has taken on is extraordinary and I wish him huge amounts of luck for the day but also would like to thank him for choosing to do this all aid of CHSW, every penny raised really will go towards making the most of short and precious lives."
All money raised from the incredible challenge will be donated to CHSW's Little Harbour children's hospice in Porthpean near St Austell. Little Harbour cares for children who will not live to adulthood due to life threatening illnesses and their families. The whole family can stay at Little Harbour and while the sick children receive 24 hour one to one care from the specially trained care team, siblings get to take part in activities organised by the sibling team and mums and dads can share some time relaxing together with support close by. Little Harbour currently looks after 70 families who use the hospice for respite and emergency stays as well as end of life care and bereavement support.
