Falmouth Town Manager, Richard Gates, is encouraging everyone to get involved with Children's Hospice South West's Moonlight Memory Walk in Falmouth this year.
This will be the fifth year that Children's Hospice South West has used Falmouth as a location for one of their Moonlight Memory Walks. The event, being held on Saturday 21st September, will see hundreds of ladies; some dressed up, some donning a lot of purple and all walking in memory of loved ones. With some ladies who have walked before and others who are new to the Moonlight Memory Walk it will be a night to remember for everyone.
Richard Gates said "This is a great event which is very unique for the time it takes place throughout the town. It attracts a strong following and this is only evident by the walk reaching its 5th year in Falmouth. The Moonlight Memory Walk is for a very good cause and always has a very positive atmosphere so please do get involved and support this event".
The event has raised over £190,000 since it first came to the town in 2009 and never fails to disappoint with its truly special atmosphere. Money raised through walker's sponsorship at the Moonlight Memory Walk goes toward funds for Little Harbour Children's Hospice at St Austell.
Little Harbour cares for children with life limiting conditions who will not live to adulthood, and also has facilities for their parents and siblings. At Little Harbour, fun is always encouraged as families enjoy the freedom of being away from home and can spend quality time together without the burden of caring.
You can walk as an individual or as part of a team of friends, colleagues or family. The special uplifting Memory Ceremony on the night will be a chance to remember those who are no longer with us, and the walk that follows involves plenty of laughs along the way. "This evening really is a girl's night out with a difference and we invite Falmouth ladies to come and enjoy the 5th year anniversary with us" says Sarah Stott, Events Fundraiser for Little Harbour.
Falmouth looks forward to welcoming all of the ladies taking part this year, and if you haven't registered already just visit www.chsw.org.uk/moonlight or call Little Harbour on 01726 871800 to request an entry form.
