We had lunch here last week and all five of us liked what we chose. This is traditional food which you don't get elsewhere. Rather than paninis and pizza, which seem to be everywhere these days, we had ham, egg and chips, bubble and squeak and welsh rarebit. All beautifully cooked and presented. I had the garlic mushrooms with toast which looked a bit like the mud when the tide is out but tasted delicious.

I love this place! if your lucky enough to squeeze in and get a table i can strongly recomend one of their lovely sandwhices and a cream tea. They have a brilliant selection of delicious and resonably priced home made cakes. If you are unable to walk particualy far its right by one of the towns main car parks. This is a must do if your visiting falmouth!
Over Christmas I had lunch at De Wynns twice. First time I shared two sandwiches with a friend and both were excellent. The second time I had the soup of the day (turkey broth) which was obviously homemade and delicious. The ham and eggs is also always a good choice. Prices are good too.

If you are looking for the ultimate hot chocolate I would recommend De Wynns. They also do a fine tiffen bar and very good meringues. The surroundings are olde worlde and cosy and the service is always good. Years ago they used to do a chocolate based cake called a fiji bar which I loved. It would be great if this returned.
