Falmouth Police Want You to Have Your Say

It could soon be much easier to speak to the local police in Falmouth. Until now PACT (Partners and Communities Together) meetings have been held so that officers could speak to members of the local community. That may be set to change though as during January the police will be handing out questionnaires and simple to fill in forms to try and encourage more residents in the town to voice any concerns they may have.

The month long consultation is called “Have Your Say” and posters will be going up around Falmouth to tell you how to get in touch. The questionnaires and forms will be available to pick up from a variety of shops and businesses as well as the police station and Cornwall Council’s One Stop Shop.

A meeting will be held at the end of January to determine how successful the scheme has been and will be repeated again six months later.

PACT Chairman Paul Wickes is quoted in the Falmouth Packet as saying: “While the existing process has been efficient and democratic, it is not always accessible to people who work or who cannot make an early meeting.”

Do you have any concerns you’d like to raise with police? Do you think the system being trialled sounds more convenient? Are you more likely to use this method than attend a PACT meeting?

@maremlookout if the new process works we will definately be going online for the next round in 6 months. I'll ensure Bar Road have forms restocked.

@maremlookout Unfortunately not. Sargent Gary Watts said that as this is the first time they've done this they're keeping it simple. http://tinyurl.com/23h3p49

Is it possible to get these forms online? We dropped into the Spar on Bar Road and they'd run out of forms - there are a couple of issues we'd like to raise and don't want to miss the deadline!
