Cornwall Council is getting around £20,000 a month in mooring fees from the giant container ships lying idle in the River Fal, according to a report on MailOnline today. Love them or hate them, you can’t lose sight of this economic benefit, but I must say I find them an eyesore on what is such a lovely river. I rather like having them there. I went down (or up) the river Fal the other week and thought they looked amazing. They look like they shouldn't be there-- huge ships on a small river. I think they're kind of spooky, I'd love to go down at night.
