Hi, I run the Marine Gallery and imaging business along Bar Road and would like to ask if anybody can tell me where the stench comes from sometimes?
Is it the drains, the sewers, the docks? What is it and is anything being done about it?
I've had various conversations with local people about it and get various answers!!!
Not a good 'first impression' for some of our cruise ship visitors! Let alone having to live and work with it.

Sadly, I can't help you on where the stench comes from but I know what you mean. It's certainly not a good impression for tourists!

The stench appears to come from the drains beneath Melvill Road and when the wind is in the South west it wafts towards Bar Road , also sometimes if fertiliser is being off loaded in docks you get a whiff.

It's Friday afternoon and the stench is here with a vengeance! What the hell is it?
Two of my customers have remarked on it this afternoon.
Maybe if i refuse to pay my rates someone in authority will respond with an answer and then maybe a solution!
