Your guide to what’s on in Falmouth this week.

Running all this week is the first ever Falmouth Spring Festival. Whilst it kicked off on Saturday, there’s still a lot going on throughout the week. Here are some of the highlights:

This week in Falmouth

On Tuesday 29th, the St. Michael’s Hotel are hosting a Spring Lunch. It costs £17.50 per person and includes a talk from Tom Clarke, the head gardener at Trelissick Gardens. Click here for booking and further info. 

Tristan Gooley will be guest lecturing at the National Maritime Museum on Wednesday 30th. The Natural Navigator looks at how modern technology is ruining our sense of direction and how Tristan learnt to find his way using the sun, moon, stars, weather, plants and animals. Once again, booking is essential. Click here to find out more. 

On Friday 1st, the National Maritime Museum plays host to the much anticipated Falmouth Spring Fashion Show. Over 20 Falmouth clothing stores and 60 models will be showing their new Spring collections. It starts at 7:30pm and costs £6.50 per person. For more info call 01326 212895. Booking is essential. 

On Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd the festival comes to close with the Spring Fair. Events Square will be taken over by a show garden, food markets, childrens’ activities, craft and garden stalls and music. 

This week at the Poly

The Plasticine Men present Keepers on Thursday 31st. Based on a real events, the play used live music and little more than a ladder and a trapdoor to tell the tale of a man who faced an ordeal so diabolical that it would go down in maritime legend, changing the way lighthouses were run forever. Tickets cost £8 (£7 concessions.)

This week at the Princess Pavilion 

On Tuesday 29th and Thursday 31st Falmouth School will present the classic Broadway production: A Chorus Line. Performed by the school’s 6th form pupils, the show is described as: “the dancing X Factor of the 70s.” Doors are at 7pm, tickets cost £7 (£4 concessions.)
