We mentioned the ShelterBox Big Weekend is our guide to the Summer holidays and now it’s here. Tomorrow, people will be heading to Events Square in Falmouth to raise money for the charity.

First, let’s do a bit of a recap. The ShelterBox Big Weekend is two days of music and events. There’s an impossible sounding climbing wall challenge and the chance to abseil 30 metres down the Maritime Museum. The event culminates in the sponsored sleep out where you can spent the night living in one of the ShelterBox tents.

And now the useful stuff...

If you’re planning on driving there is parking by Events Square but it could get quite full. If it is, my recommendation is to park on the other side of town. It’s only a short walk to Events Square.

If you get a bit peckish then there’ll be plenty of stalls at the event, but why not try some of the resturants and cafés around the square. Harvey’s Wharf, Rick Stein’s and the Shed are all great places for a drink of a quick bite to eat. I would imagine they’ll be very busy though.

Are you attending? Doing the sponsored sleep out? Or just think I’m an idiot, and you have a better place to park/eat. Let us know in the comments.
