With Christmas just round the corner it’ll soon time to let your hair down with your coworkers and get your party on. But were are the best places in Falmouth to hold your festive shindig?

If you’re thinking big then there are scores of hotels across the town all vying to hold your event. The Greenbank Hotel, The Greenlawns and St Michael’s Hotel are all great places and a few of them are offering Christmas specials. The Greenbank are offering packages from £30 to £35 per person and the Greenlawns are charing between £20 and £30 per person.

If it’s a smaller gathering your planning then Falmouth’s restaurants will be more appropriate. A few weeks ago you told us your favourite places to eat: The Wheelhouse, Cribbs and the Cove all got good reviews and as always, you can check our business directory for a full list.

But everyone holds parties at hotels and restaurants’ I hear you say. Well, if you really want to push the boat out (pardon the pun) you could have a Christmas Cruise on the river  Fal. There are a few companies offering boat trips in the town, so check our business directory for the details.

If you like the idea of an unusual location but would prefer to be on terra firma then the Maritime Museum can be hired out for private parties. If this idea floats your boat (again, sorry for the pun) then check out their home on the web here

Are you doing anything spectacular this year or do you have a perennial favorite you do every year? Let us know in the comments.

I went on a Christmas boat trip to Malpas a few years ago and can highly recommend it. It was great fun.
