This summer will see a slice of 50’s Americana return to Falmouth as Swanpool Beach will be hosting two Drive-in movies.

The event will happen on the 13th and 14th of August, although the films being shown haven’t been announced.

Falmouth’s first Drive-in movie night happened in 2008 when the 1978 musical Grease was shown and more than 200 cars parked at the beach. Pete Lochrie, the event organiser, told the Falmouth Packet:

“Our first Drive In Movie in 2008 was a huge success and we have been planning on doing it again ever since. We felt that this year was right for us and we are delighted to be able to host two movies this time. “We’re just finalising details for the two nights and will be able to announce what films we will be showing very soon.”

There’s no word on price yet, but in 2008 it cost £25 per car. For more information you can visit Swanpool Beach’s website.

What movies would you like to see in the open air? Would you like this to become a regular event? Let us know in the comments.
