Cornwall's February jobless figure up slightly

According to the Office of National Statistics the number of people out of work and claiming benefit in Cornwall rose very slightly to 10,400 in February. This represents an increase of just 70 over the previous month.

In percentage terms it is unchanged at 3.3 per cent of the population and remains lower than the national rate of 4.4 per cent. Nationally, the claimant count fell, but long-term unemployment rose.
