Once again, students from University College Falmouth’s BA(Hons) Digital Media/Broadcasting course have swept the board at the South West Royal Television Society Awards.

At a ceremony held in Plymouth:

•    Gemma Care, Adam Stocker, Rachel Hobday and Dave King won the RTS SW Drama Award with their moving drama, Joe

•    Adam Townsend, Dominique Belcourt, Hayley Boone and Chris Richardson won the RTS Documentary Award with their cross-platform project, Infertility: Unlucky No7

•    Polly Donnoghue’s Ella, a documentary about the loneliness of a deaf Polish woman and a documentary that explored dyslexia, entitled Picture This, by Richard Blake and Dan Evans were both nominated and awarded certificates in recognition of their merits.

“Falmouth’s BA(Hons) Digital Media/Broadcasting students have won both the Drama and Documentary SW RTS awards for the years 2006, 2007 and 2009, so our course is clearly a force to be reckoned with,” explained Senior Lecturer, John Parker-Rees.

“University College Falmouth’s School of Media continues to achieve significant success in major regional, national and international competitions,” said Director of the School of Media, Paul Inman.  “Entering prestigious awards schemes and working with industry partners adds a richness to the student experience at Falmouth that prepares graduates to hit the ground running and fast-track their careers.  I warmly congratulate our latest batch of winners and the academic team who support them.”
