Air travelers left stranded after their flights were cancelled due to the Icelandic volcano eruption are due to arrive in Falmouth on Thursday, according to the Falmouth Packet. Cruise line companies Thomson and First Choice have said they will take their guests, along with 300 other non-cruise passengers back to the UK from Spain, via Falmouth.

The Thomson ship, the Island Escape, is currently in Madeira and will be the first to arrive in the town.
A spokesperson for the Thomson said: “Passengers onboard this ship had previously been scheduled to fly home to the UK, but will instead travel directly to Falmouth on the ship with an arrival date of Thursday April 22. Extra spaces onboard the ship, enabled over 300 non- cruise Thomson customers holidaying in Madeira and whose flights had been cancelled, to embark the ship and be repatriated back to the UK. From Falmouth, customers will then be transferred by coach back to their original UK departure airport.”
First Choice will also be bringing customers back from Spain via Falmouth.
