2 Little Birds is a brand new independent vintage boutique in Falmouth, run by Ella Seabourne and Emma Priest. The sort of thing that a lot of us dream about doing, Ella and Emma have actually made the dream happen!

Meeting 8 years ago whilst working at Tog 24 on Church street, the girls worked together for about a year. Emma then went off snowboarding to France and Ella went to London. Eventually (about 3 years later) they both ended up back in Falmouth and bumped into each other again. You could say a boutique was then born!

Emma's interest in owning a boutique came from her uncle who owns several vintage clothing boutiques in london (check out www.dappaboutique.com) - visiting him and coming to love the feel and style of beautiful vintage clothing inspired Emma to follow a similar path. Emma says

"I personally like to combine bits of vintage with high street to make a more individual style. Every person should have some vintage items in their wardrobe!!! Whilst i was studying at university I sold bits on Ebay for extra funds but really started to enjoy learning and finding Vintage clothes and accessories and my dream was to find a way that I could do this as a job."

Ella has a retail background and has worked in Cardiff and London before working at Pendennis castle and another retailer in Penryn, When Ella found herself without work in August she decided to go whole-heartedly in to her own business, a dream she had always had after working in the area for so long. So Ella approached Emma to suggest going into partnership and Two little birds was born. The  shop was always going to open in Falmouth as it was both girls' home and they thought that Falmouth had a more individual and unique feel to it over other towns in Cornwall, that would suit the venture well.

So, why 2 Little Birds? Emma explains;

"The name came from two little wooden birds that sit on my mantle piece, they reminded me of Ella and I and It just sounded right. Our plans for the future include exclusive nights in for the girls in the boutique, where a host and friends can have the use of the shop for the evening. We also plan to hold a spring vintage ball for charity and will be officially launching the upstairs to the boutique in January."

The pair's Ethos is that by wearing vintage clothing you are not only being eco friendly but that you are also wearing a piece of history that has experienced many dramas and passions that we can only speculate about. Vintage clothing is about individuality, quality and uniqueness and it is the opposite to the throw away fashions of Primark and other such high street chains.

The boutique has some beautiful party dresses (prom, cocktail and ball gowns) and leather coats (always on-trend and classic) ideal for the festive party season. Also in stock are Christy's hats of London - which are all handmade and beautiful quality, at the moment there are only Trilbies but Ella they get hold of many other styles including top hats and hats can be measured to order. You can also get a beautiful red hat box to match. Other stock lines include Sarah Drew jewellery who make amazing pieces from old vintage jewellery, as well as new vintage style gifts and goodies, so there is something for everyone. There is also a men's range which will be increasing in January, this includes suits, waistcoats, ties and much more.
