A club dedicated to Taekwondo with a family atmosphere

My son was the first to discover this club through a recommendation from a friend, since then I have joined and trained with them and so has my daughter. We all enjoy the training provided by the dedicated instructors, the family friendly atmosphere and the support given. The club is continuing to grow and I look forward to many more years of training and the sense of achievment it has given us all. Mr Beard is a good example for the Tenets of Taekwondo and inspires others the follow the same path and should be proud of this fantastic club he has nurtured over the years. Ian 1st Kup

Welcome to First Defence Black Belt Schools

We offer a wide range of Martial Arts and Fitness classes for all ages and abilities and our friendly and experienced instructors will help you learn in a safe and fun environment.

Taekwondo is a great way for children and adults to grow in confidence, energy, health, self-control and much more.

Our children's programmes focus on discipline and courteousness and we develop our students on both a physical and mental level. Martial Arts training has also been proven to strengthen confidence and focus leading to improvement in school work.

All of our instructors are qualified and have been CRB checked, they'll help you or your child grow as person and we even offer a free taster sessions so there's no excuse not to give it a go.

    Well worth it

       

    A few years ago, my boy was looking for a sport to do but not sure what so we took him to First Defence for a try out. The years have rolled on and he is now on his way to his second black belt. Not only has he learned to better cope with some of life's uncertainties but also made some good friends along the way.
    Good teachers are hard to find and I can honestly say Mike is is excellent teacher because he teaches something he clearly loves.

    When he came to you he was a timid and clumsy child. Taekwondo certainly gave him personal confidence, poise, discipline and self esteem that I am sure has had a significant impact on his life so far and will certainly be of benefit for years to come.
